If you've encountered graphical issues while using Slate Digital plugins like MetaTune, Infinity Bass, MO-TT, MetaPitch, Infinity EQ, or FG-X 2, this article will guide you through the troubleshooting process. These plugins share the same framework, so if you're experiencing problems with one, you might encounter them with others as well. In this guide, we will address the common "white" and "blank" plugin window issues and provide solutions based on your graphics card type.
Issues like these typically indicate a problem with your graphics card (GPU) not rendering the plugin graphics properly. We'll walk you through the steps to resolve this issue based on your graphics card type.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Updating Your NVIDIA Graphics Card:
- If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, follow these steps to update it:
- Download and install NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
- Launch NVIDIA GeForce Experience and check for available updates.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update your graphics card drivers.
2. Updating Your AMD Graphics Card:
- If you have an AMD graphics card, use the following steps to update it:
- Visit the AMD Radeon Driver Update page.
- Download and install the latest drivers for your AMD graphics card by following the provided instructions.
3. Compatibility Check:
- If updating your graphics card doesn't resolve the issue, it's possible that your GPU is not compatible with our plugin line, especially if you have an older machine. Luckily, we’ve accounted for such situations and have included an option called CPU graphic rendering. This moves the processing actions that should have been accomplished by your GPU, to your CPU. The only downside is that performance will be worse in this mode. Sonically the plugin will sound exactly the same. Instructions on how to do this are included below:
4. Enabling CPU Graphic Rendering:
- In case your GPU is not compatible, we've included an option called CPU graphic rendering as a workaround.
- Follow these steps to enable CPU graphic rendering for MO-TT (similar steps apply to other plugins):
- Insert MO-TT into your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) and open the plugin window.
- Close all instances of MO-TT and then exit your DAW.
- Locate the settings.xml file:
- On Windows, it's typically found in
