This guide will show you step by step how to send MIDI to TH-U Slate when inserted in a DAW. In particular we will focus on 7 DAWs:
-
Reaper
-
Sonar
-
Pro Tools
-
Cubase
-
Ableton Live
-
Logic Pro X
- Studio One
Other DAWs send MIDI to virtual instruments only and not audio plugins.
You'll be creating an Audio track in which we open the Audio plugin we want to control with MIDI and creating both an Audio and MIDI track to route the MIDI messages from the MIDI input of the plugin.
Once this is set up as explained individually for each DAW below, open TH-U Slate Edition and right click the parameter you'd like to control via your MIDI controller and select "Learn global MIDI"
NOTE: If you get this message after following the steps specific to your DAW below, your MIDI controller is not set up correctly in your DAW
