How To Import & Export Plugin Presets

Saving, importing, and exporting presets in Slate Digital (and Eiosis) plugins is simple once you know where to look! This guide will walk you through the steps.

Saving a New Preset

Once you’ve tweaked a plugin to your heart’s desire and created something you want to save:

  1. Click the Save As button inside the plugin.
In VMR (Virtual Mix Rack), this appears as a save icon 💾.

Save As → Name your preset and save it.

Locating Your Preset

After saving, you can find your new preset in the plugin’s Preset Menu.

Exporting a Preset Bank

To share your presets or back them up:

  1. Click the three vertical dots (options menu) on the left side of the plugin window.
  2. Select Export Bank.

  1. Choose a location to save the .ebf file and give it a name you'll remember.

The .ebf file can now be:

  • Moved via a USB drive
  • Emailed
  • Uploaded to a cloud service (Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, etc.)

Importing a Preset Bank

On another machine:

  1. Open the plugin.
  2. Click the three vertical dots menu.
  3. Select Import Bank and locate the .ebf file you exported earlier.

That's it — the preset bank will be added to your preset menu!

Alternative Method: Manual Installation

If you prefer, you can manually copy presets directly into the correct folder:

  • macOS:
    Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Slate Digital/<Plugin Name>/Presets
  • Windows:
    C:/ProgramData/Slate Digital/<Plugin Name>/Presets

Note: The ProgramData folder is hidden by default on Windows, so you may need to show hidden folders first. See more information here

Special Note for Eiosis Plugins

Eiosis plugins like AirEQ Premium and E2Deesser use the same preset framework.
The steps for saving, importing, and exporting presets are identical.

Missing Presets?

If you're missing presets after importing or saving, it might be due to confusion between your DAW's preset system and the Slate Digital native preset system.
