Troubleshooting Graphical Issues with MetaPitch

If you've encountered graphical issues while using Slate Digital plugins like MetaTune, Infinity Bass, MO-TT, MetaPitch, Infinity EQ, or FG-X 2, this article will guide you through the troubleshooting process.

These plugins share similar internal systems, so if you're experiencing problems with one, you might encounter them with others as well.

⚡ Quick Tip: Most graphical issues are related to your graphics card (GPU) not rendering plugin graphics properly. We'll help you fix it step-by-step!

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Updating Your NVIDIA Graphics Card

  • Download and install NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
  • Launch the app and check for available updates.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest drivers.

2. Updating Your AMD Graphics Card

3. Compatibility Check

  • If updating your graphics card doesn't resolve the issue, your GPU might not be compatible with these plugins (especially on older systems).
  • We've included a fallback option called CPU Graphic Rendering to handle visual processing with your CPU instead.
    • Note: Performance may decrease slightly in CPU Rendering mode, but the plugin’s sound will remain identical.

Enabling CPU Graphic Rendering

Follow these steps to enable CPU Graphic Rendering for MetaPitch (same process for the other plugins listed above):

  1. Insert MetaPitch into your DAW and open the plugin window.
  2. Close all instances of MetaPitch and fully exit your DAW.
  3. Locate the settings.xml file:
    • Windows:
      C:\ProgramData\Slate Digital\MetaPitch
    • Mac:
      ~/Library/Application Support/Slate Digital/MetaPitch
      • Note: This location is hidden by default. Hold the Option ⌥ key in Finder’s Go menu to access the User Library. See a GIF here.
  4. Open settings.xml in a text editor.
  5. Find the entry for UseCpuRendering.

UseCpuRendering Entry Example

  • Change the value field from 0 to 1.
  • Save and close the file.
  • Launch your DAW and reinsert MetaPitch.
