NOTE: Before proceeding with the installation steps, please verify your version of Ableton is supported: Supported Digital Audio Workstations
Slate Digital Connect Installation
Step 1:
Download Slate Digital Connect from the following page: https://app.slatedigital.com/installers
Step 2:
Make sure Ableton is closed, as it will need to scan in the newly installed plugin(s) after the installation. Once the Slate Digital Connect has finished downloading, locate the installer in your downloads folder and double-click to unzip and run the installer.
Step 3:
Install the plugins and/or updates necessary for your license(s)
-Perpetual: Only install the plugins you've purchased. If you install a product you don't have a license for, you'll be asked for activation when your DAW/DAW session loads.
Note: For any Virtual Mix Rack module or bundle purchase/redemption, all Virtual Mix Rack will install. If you don't own own some of the modules, this is fine, as any unlicensed modules will be moved to the bottom of the modules list
-All Access Pass: Click "Install All" to install all of the All Access Pass plugins.
Step 4:
Launch Ableton after installation has completed.
Step 5 (Mac only):
AU, VST or VST3? Go to Ableton Preferences and decide which plugin format(s) you'd like to use. Please view the following article for more information: https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209068929-Using-AU-and-VST-plug-ins-on-Mac
IMPORTANT: If you are planning on sharing your projects with PC users, it is important to only use VST or VST3 plugin formats as AU is not a supported plugin format on Windows.
Step 5 (Windows only):
Slate Digital plugins are installed to "C:\Program Files\Vstplugins" by default. You will need to add this path to Ableton or install Slate Digital plugins to your custom VST2 path.
• Click the "Options" drop-down menu and select Preferences.
• Under Plug-Ins, make sure "Use VST2 Plug-In Custom Folder" is on.
• Make sure C:\Program Files\Vstplugins is selected as your VST2 Plug-In Custom Folder
• Plugins should begin scanning in automatically.
• VST3 Note: The default VST3 is C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. This plugin path is set by default, and if you use VST3 formats in Ableton, Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders should be enabled unless you use a custom VST3 path (not recommended).
