An ESR Error generally occurs when two or more VMR versions are installed to multiple locations. When the DAW picks up both locations, the ESR Error is triggered. It can also happen if the DAW is open during the plugin installation.
🚫 Important: Always ensure your DAW is fully closed before installing or updating plugins!
🛠️ How to Fix the ESR Error
This issue can usually be fixed by uninstalling the older VMR version from your plugin paths. Here's how:
- First, uninstall the plugin experiencing the error using the Uninstall.command file found in:
Applications/Slate Digital/
- After uninstalling, manually check the following plugin folders and delete any remaining versions:
- AU: /Library/Audio/Plugins/Components/
- VST: /Library/Audio/Plugins/VST/
- VST3: /Library/Audio/Plugins/VST3/
- AAX: /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plugins/
⚠️ Note: Be sure to check both inside and outside the "Slate Digital" folders within each path listed above.
Once all versions are cleared, download and install the latest version of the plugin from this page.
