❗️Load Error: Could Not Load SlateCore
If you encounter the following error message:
"Load Error: Could Not Load SlateCore"
This typically indicates a problem with how a plugin was installed or a version conflict between components in the Slate Digital plugin framework.
🎯 What Causes This?
This issue is commonly triggered by:
- A version conflict between different Slate Digital plugins
- A botched plugin installation, usually when the DAW was left open during install
- Missing resource files or incomplete installs due to restricted file access during setup
Our SlateCore component is currently used by the following plugins:
- Storch Filter
- Fresh Air
- Heatwave
- Submerge
- Murda Melodies
If any of these are corrupted or mismatched, the error may appear.
✅ How To Fix It
Step 1: Uninstall the Affected Plugin(s)
🔍 If you’re unsure which plugin is causing the issue, we recommend uninstalling all of the plugins listed above.
🖥 Mac Instructions
- Open Applications > Slate Digital.
- Open the folder of the plugin you want to uninstall (e.g., Murda Melodies).
- Double-click uninstall.command — this will launch a Terminal window.
- Enter your Mac user password (note: no characters will appear while typing) and hit Enter.
- Navigate to:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Slate Digital/ - Delete the folder(s) for the plugin(s) you just uninstalled.
💾 If you’ve created custom presets, make sure to back up the preset folders to your Desktop before deleting them.
🖥 Windows Instructions
- Press the Windows key
, search for Add or Remove Programs, and open it.
- Search for the plugin you want to remove.
- Click the three dots on the right, then select Uninstall.
- Navigate to:
C:\ProgramData\Slate Digital\ - Delete the plugin folder(s) for the affected plugins.

💾 Don't forget to back up any custom user presets before deleting the folder!
Step 2: Reinstall the Plugin(s)
Reinstall the plugin(s) one at a time using the Offline Installation section on our Installers Page:

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Ensure your DAW is completely closed during installation.
The same goes for when Slate Digital Connect is in use.
