VMR 2.0 - New Features Overview

Dream Strip

Any Rack Preset—User or Factory—can be set as a Dream Strip and added to the Dream Strip bar for one-click access to your most-used configurations like “Vocal Channel”, “Drumbuss”, or “Mastering 1”.

  • The bar supports up to eight Dream Strips.
  • The bar will remain hidden if no Dream Strips are assigned.
  • The first Dream Strip is the default VMR state (represented by a home icon). Reorder to change it.

To set a Preset as Dream Strip:

  • Click the star in the Preset Menu
  • Or use "Save As" and enable the “Dream Strip” option

To remove a Dream Strip:

  • Right-click it and select “Remove From Dream Strips”
  • Disable the star in the Preset Menu
  • Use "Save As" and disable the “Dream Strip” option

To update a Dream Strip with your current configuration, right-click the button and select “Update With Current Strip.” This triggers the Save As panel. Factory presets cannot be overwritten.

VMR includes a default Dream Strip bank with seven starting points. Updates will not overwrite your custom Dream Strip bar.

Factory Presets

Since VMR 2.0, all presets—Rack and Module—are categorized into:

  1. Factory Presets: Installed by VMR. Locked and symbolized by a lock icon.
  2. User Presets: Created by you.

To edit a Factory Preset, use the “Save As” function to create a new User Preset.

Oversampling Option

VMR 2.0 adds an Oversampling toggle in the Settings menu to reduce aliasing from digital clipping.

Oversampling introduces latency and higher CPU usage:

  • 63 samples at 44.1/48 kHz
  • 127 samples at 88.2/96 kHz

The setting is saved per instance and recalled with presets or session data.

Library Views

VMR 2.0 provides two ways to view your Modules:

  • Thumbnail View (icons)
  • List View (names)

Switch views using the burger (☰) and rectangle (▭) icons in the Library pane.

Search Modules

Type characters into the search bar to instantly filter Modules. Partial strings return all matching results (e.g., typing "Air 401" yields AirEQ Air, AirEQ Earth, and FG-401).

Clear Rack

The Clear Rack button instantly removes all Modules and resets Slot order.

Undo/Redo

Undo/Redo supports up to 20 steps, allowing you to quickly backtrack or redo changes including module swaps, Slot orders, and more.
