MacOS Sequoia 15.4 Beta Compatibility Update [03-12-25]
Slate Digital Plugins Now Work with macOS 15.4 Beta 3
Previously, we advised all Slate Digital users not to upgrade to macOS Sequoia 15.4 Beta due to critical plugin functionality issues. Users reported errors such as:
- “Cannot load bundle”
- “Couldn’t be loaded”
- Errors mentioning “__DATA segment”
These issues were caused by changes in macOS 15.4 Beta 1 that prevented PACE-wrapped (iLok protected) plugins from loading properly.
Fixed in macOS 15.4 Beta 3
We are pleased to confirm that Apple has resolved these issues in macOS 15.4 Beta 3. All Slate Digital and Kilohearts plugins now load as expected, without errors.
What Should You Do?
- If you are on macOS 15.4 Beta 1 or Beta 2, you will still experience issues. We recommend updating to macOS 15.4 Beta 3 or later.
- If you have not upgraded yet, we suggest staying on a stable macOS version. At the time of writing, this is version 15.3.2.
We Do Not Support Beta Operating Systems
As a general policy, Slate Digital does not officially support beta versions of macOS or Windows. Beta operating systems can be unstable and may introduce changes that break compatibility with our plugins.
Before updating your OS, please always check our System Requirements & Supported DAWs to ensure compatibility.
Technical Breakdown of the Issue
This issue affects all PACE-wrapped products built with Xcode 15 or 16 and wrapped using wraptool.
Our team has identified the root cause and is working on a fix while awaiting feedback from Apple. However, we cannot guarantee when a resolution will be available.
