How to Activate Complete Access licenses to iLok Cloud

If you're looking to activate your Slate Digital plugins using iLok Cloud, this guide will walk you through the entire process. iLok Cloud activation is a convenient method that allows you to authorize your plugins without needing a physical dongle or tying licenses to a specific machine.

What is iLok Cloud Activation?

iLok Cloud allows you to run your Slate Digital plugins without needing a physical iLok or Machine-ID activation. As long as you’re connected to the internet, your plugins will stay activated and ready to go.

• Users who work on multiple machines.
• Those with a reliable, always-on internet connection.
• Avoiding the use of dongles or offline activation.

🌐 How It Works:

• Licenses are hosted in the cloud via iLok’s servers.
• An internet connection is required to maintain an active Cloud Session.
• If the connection is interrupted or the session closes, plugins will stop working until reconnected.

Step-by-Step: iLok Cloud Activation

1. Download and Install Your Plugins

   • Use Complete Access Hub to install all your plugins and the iLok License Manager automatically, or install them individually from:

     https://app.completeaccess.audio/installers

   • Sign in with your Slate Digital email and password, and then select "Activate licenses".  
     • Select 'Cloud'. Curious about other activation methods? 
     • 📒Note: Make sure your DAW is closed during installation.
2. Install iLok License Manager

   • If you didn’t use Complete Access Hub, download the latest version of iLok License Manager here:

     https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager

3. Sign In to iLok License Manager
   • Open the app and sign in using your iLok User ID and password.
4. Open a Cloud Session

   • Click File > Open Your Cloud Session from the menu bar and confirm when prompted.

     

   • If you're in Automatic Mode (default), all eligible licenses will activate automatically.
     If you're in Managed Mode, you’ll need to activate licenses manually from the Available tab. Learn more here.
5. Enjoy Your Plugins!
   • Open your DAW and start creating—your plugins are ready to use via iLok Cloud.

Additional Notes

• iLok Cloud activation is only available for: Complete Access, VMS plugins + expansions, Fresh Air, and Heatwave licenses.
• Perpetual and individual trial licenses must be activated via Machine-ID or an iLok 2/3 USB dongle.
