Where to redeem your free months

You won't find a separate code card for the free months in the box. Where you redeem depends on which brand made your hardware.

Slate Digital ML-1A

Your ML-1A comes with a one-sheet insert. It's the same sheet you use to register your microphone. The link to claim your 3 free months is printed at the bottom of it.

  1. Register your ML-1A and redeem your Virtual Microphone System license first. Our guide walks you through it: How To Register Your ML-1A Microphone & Redeem the Software License
  2. Then claim your 3 free months of Complete Access using the link at the bottom of your one-sheet: https://shorturl.at/9Fivl

Already subscribed to Complete Access? The ML-1A offer is for new customers who don't have an active Complete Access subscription. Redeeming it while you're already subscribed creates a second subscription that runs alongside your current one.

SSL hardware

Free months that come with SSL hardware are redeemed through SSL's website, not Slate Digital's.

  1. Sign in to your SSL account and register your SSL product.
  2. Click Get Additional Software.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to claim your Complete Access offer.

SSL limits these offers to one per user account, no matter how many eligible SSL products you own. If you have trouble registering your SSL hardware or finding the offer, please contact SSL Support.

How the free months work

The free months are not a traditional trial with one block of free time. Your offer starts a Month-to-Month subscription where the first 3 or 6 monthly payments are $0.00.

  • Your subscription renews once a month at $0.00, and your licenses refresh with each renewal.
  • After your last free month, it continues at the regular $19.99/month unless you turn off auto-renewal.
  • There's no commitment. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time, but see the next section first.

Here's what that looks like for an offer redeemed on January 10:

OfferFree renewals ($0.00)First $19.99 payment
3 monthsJan 10, Feb 10, Mar 10Apr 10
6 monthsJan 10, Feb 10, Mar 10, Apr 10, May 10, Jun 10Jul 10

Turning off auto-renewal during your free months

Turning off auto-renewal ends your free months early. Because the offer renews one month at a time, your subscription stops at the end of the current month, even if you still have free months left.

For example, say you redeem a 6-month offer on March 22 and turn off auto-renewal a few days later. Your subscription ends on April 21, after the first month. The other 5 free months are never used.

To get every free month:

  • Leave auto-renewal on while you use your free months.
  • If you don't want to continue after the offer, turn off auto-renewal during your last free month, before your first $19.99 payment date.
  • If you already turned it off by mistake, turn it back on while your subscription is still active. It will keep renewing at $0.00 until all your free months are used.

To manage auto-renewal, sign in to your Complete Access account and go to your Subscriptions page.

If you have more than one offer

Free months don't stack or combine. Each offer you redeem starts its own separate subscription. If you redeem two offers at the same time, both subscriptions run side by side and use up their free months together.

For example, if you buy an SSL 2+ and an ML-1A and redeem both offers on the same day, you don't get 6 months in a row. You get two subscriptions covering the same 3 months, and both switch to $19.99/month when those months end.

To get the full benefit of both:

  1. Redeem one offer and use its free months.
  2. Turn off auto-renewal during its last free month.
  3. Once that subscription has ended, redeem the next offer.

Frequently asked questions

My free months ended after only 1 month. What happened?

This almost always means auto-renewal was turned off. Turn it back on while your subscription is still active, and it will continue at $0.00 until your free months are used. See Turning off auto-renewal during your free months.

I can't find a code in my box. How do I redeem my free months?

For the ML-1A, use the link at the bottom of your one-sheet. For SSL hardware, register your product in your SSL account and click Get Additional Software. See Where to redeem your free months.

I bought an SSL interface and an ML-1A. Do I get 6 free months?

Not in one block. Each offer is its own 3-month subscription. Redeem them one after the other to use both. See If you have more than one offer.

I redeemed two offers and now I have two subscriptions. What should I do?

Please contact our support team. We'll look at your account and help you decide which subscription to keep.

What happens when my free months are over?

Your subscription continues as a regular Month-to-Month subscription at $19.99/month. If you don't want to continue, turn off auto-renewal during your last free month.
