If your audio interface is plugged in and powered on, but not being detected by Pro Tools, you will need to do the following steps:
Please ensure you have downloaded and installed the latest VRS8 drivers. These can be downloaded here.
Next, check that the VRS8 is being detected by your computer.
Click on the Apple icon while holding the Option key and choose System Information.
Under the left column titled Hardware, select Thunderbolt, as this is how the interface should be connected.
If you don’t see VRS8 as a device, please ensure that you’re connecting your interface correctly.
When connecting the VRS8 via Thunderbolt 2, you will need to verify that the Thunderbolt logo is face up on the Thunderbolt cable when plugged into the VRS8 and the computer.
If the logo isn’t face up, please unplug the cable and plug this in the correct way on both the VRS8 and computer.
Please note that you will not be able to connect via the Mini DisplayPort. Although the physical connector is the same, the protocol is different therefore, the VRS8 will not be recognized if plugged into the Mini DisplayPort.
If you’re unsure the difference of the two connectors, Thunderbolt ports have a “lightning bolt” image whereas Mini DisplayPort have a “display” image. Please view the following:
