Microphones must be connected to an XLR input on the back of the VRS8 panel using an XLR cable rather than a 1/4” input.
The XLR input will take the signal through the preamp part of the interface as the 1/4” jack will not.
Additionally, if the microphone requires phantom power, you will need to use the XLR as phantom power is only sent over XLR. Phantom power should never be transmitted via TRS connectors (1/4”).
