Where is my iLok activation code?

Why Your DAW is Asking for an iLok Activation Code

If your DAW is asking for an iLok activation code, it means your system cannot currently detect your Slate Digital licenses.

Note:
Prior to December 2019, we emailed one-time activation codes after plugin purchases. You would manually enter these into iLok License Manager.

Now, activation codes are no longer provided. Licenses are automatically deposited into your linked iLok account when you purchase or subscribe.

Resolution

If Your Licenses Are in a Cloud Session:

Try closing and reopening your cloud session to refresh your licenses:

  1. Open iLok License Manager and sign into your account.
  2. Click File > Close Your Cloud Session.
  3. Click File > Open Your Cloud Session again.
Tip:
Restart your DAW after refreshing your cloud session to make sure it detects your licenses correctly.

If Your Licenses Are on a Physical iLok:

Make sure your iLok License Manager detects your iLok device:

  • Try a different USB port.
  • Reinstall iLok License Manager if necessary.
  • Synchronize your iLok once it is detected.

Download iLok License Manager (Mac)
Download iLok License Manager (Windows)

After reinstalling, right-click your iLok on the left side of the iLok License Manager and select Synchronize:

If Your Licenses Are Activated to Your Machine (Machine ID):

You may need to deactivate and reactivate your license:
